Over the last week we have designed and created our own maths games.  We had to write instructions and then test them out. Some people had to make changes to our instructions to make sure they were clear and easy to understand.

There was lots of team work, creating, trial and error, question asking, justifying, thinking, literacy and of course MATHS going on. 

Gymnastics

We are enjoying learning how to do different parts of gymnastics. Some of them are candlestick, forward rolls, walking on the beam, front support, back support, straddle, l-sit, tuck, wall climb, going over the box and landing. 

We think this is all really FUN!

Homework

If you have access to the internet you can work on your blog licence from home.

Operetta Dress Rehearsal

The day has come! We have been busy all term preparing for the Operetta and today we got all dressed up in our amazing outfits for the dress rehearsal. Don't we all look spectacular and show ready?! Bring on the shows!

Black Ferns versus Teachers

The Black Ferns challenged the teachers to a netball match...challenge accepted! Today they battled it out with lots of laughs, puffing, teamwork, and cheering!

Spring

We took the chance to get outside between the rain today and sketch some of the beautiful daffodils in the garden by the staff carpark.

It is great to see the progress throughout the year in our sketchbooks. 

Geometry - 3D shapes

Our maths learning with Miss Muller has been geometry this week (and will be continuing next week too). Today our focus was on 3D shapes.  

We got to learn through exploring, making, finding out, games and internet research.

Here we are learning how to be bloggers. We started off by practising helpful, positive or thoughtful comments. Now we are having a go at writing this post together. We want to become experts for when we get our own blogs.

Social Actions...in action

There are so many social actions underway in Room 8 at the moment. Soccer club, rubbish collection, helping the homeless, money collection for the SPCA.  How cool is it that we can make a difference in this world!!!
