Our tadpoles are nearly frogs!

Room 8 have got tadpoles.  As you can see, they are developing into frogs.  The tadpoles that have grown legs, but are still swimming in the water, are called froglets. When a creature like a frog changes from one type of animal to another it is called metamorphosis. Frogs are a special type of animal called amphibians.  Amphibious animals can breathe in the water and survive on land.

Oliver and Blake are going to make some fly-traps so that we can catch some live flies for the frogs.  The boys will need to make them soon because it looks like one of the froglets will be a frog any day now!

This is the habitat we made for the frogs.  They need to be able to get out of the water and onto land when they have finished growing their legs.
